Never Use Expensive Bulky Exercise Equipment Again!

March 18, 2008

People from all walks of life are realizing the importance of fitness and strength training, not only for the health and wellness benefits that science is proving but for the aesthetic results as well.

The exercise equipment industry has recognized this trend as well and the market is being overwhelmed with every kind of apparatus that they can conjure up.

Some do have the science of bodybuilding mastered but they do not take into consideration the cost and the space required for these contraptions, not to mention many, if not most people interested in fitness and exercise, are novices and don’t know how to perform a proper workout regimen that will enable the person to reap true rewards.  People are confused.

Fact is, most people don’t have the space or want to spend a lot of money to get in shape and they don’t have to.  A smart immitation of these expensive contraptions can have just as good of a full body exercise result and also enable you to need only one device to accomplish your fitness goals.

Not only in this country but people all around the planet are believing in implementing some kind of fitness training into their daily lives and they are baffeled to the point of never starting.  Starting and never stopping is an absolute must to always reap the benefits of exercise so you can have the best chance of dying of old age instead of a laundry list of inactive lifestyle diseases.

The fact is, a truly effective exercise regimen will not only burn fat, build muscle and strength but pump blood to the most important muscle (heart) and allow the individual to finally get fit and healthy.  Weight loss is only the beginning when a workout regimen is done accurately.

Any exercise device worth it’s salt will provide easy, safe function and give the exerciser an immediate sense they are actually accomplishing their fitness goals.  This can only be achieved with the correct amount of resistance, extension and proper movement to the muscle group.

This proper procedure will not only have fitness conditioning effects but let the exerciser actually get a uniformed attractive physique with full body continuity.  Intense fluid movement gets tremendous results.

Free weights are being used less and less in the fitness world since resistance training allows a more controlled, safe benefit.  Resistance workouts combined with calculated cardio exercises, can even give  people in the worst physical shape a complete body transformation.

When a workout regimen correctly and consistantly utilizes the proper format, only good things can happen and it will, if you don’t waver from the fitness goals you envision.  Persistance always pays off.

Also, not only will the serious exerciser begin a physical transformation but will have a mental uplift by the natural chemical release of endorphines, not to mention you like what your seeing in the mirror and you simply feel better about yourself.

Everyone should decide on enjoying some kind exercise in their lives, even if it’s only a few hours a week as long as it’s building strength, burning calories and getting you on the road to good health and wellness.

Bench Press Horror

January 29, 2008
It was 13 to 15 years ago, when I recieved a phone call from my ex girlfriends son.  He asked me if I was interested in buying a used bench press. I said I would take it , since this was the period after I quit Bally’s and wasn’t able to perform my non-stop routines anymore due to the crowds. (I was mainly using the Nautilus equipment.)

It was manufactured by a famous brand and man at the time and I never gave it a second thought I was closing in on a smashed head or throat, or much worst.

This was the type of bench that allowed you to also do weighted leg curls.  Keep in mind, I also moved very quickly even when using weights. I was using the bench for maybe two or three weeks and just finished doing my leg curls when all hell broke lose, literally.

Suddenly, as I was just moving under the 175 lb. bar bell, I heard a snap and felt myself and the entire bench, weights and all come tumbeling down.

After my heart quit pounding, and I checked my shorts, I realized what had just happened.  That punk must of tried to kill me.  ( Just Kidding, I think )

I examined the bench and discovered the welds had broken seconds before my bench press routine.

In hindsite maybe I should have contacted the manufacturer just in case this was a manufacturing defect but I was so grateful to be in one piece, I let it go.

I swore off weights ever since but I needed an effective way to continue my workout and that is how I came up with the idea of emmulating the resistance equipment I used at Bally’s and would rather be using anyway.

This is way before I owned a computer, so everything I needed had to be found the old fasion way with the yellow pages and telephone.

What I came up with was crude, simple and surprisingly just as effective as those monstrosities I was using at the health club.

I have since revised it and you can perform dozens of very effective exercises with the ability to work all the muscle groups and change the resistance very easily and get the precise movement for excellent results.

I also had to design it so I could fluidly and uninteruptedly move between each exercise to keep the blood flowing from head to toe as my routines moved from head to toe. ( this also gives one muscle group a chance to recover as you do another group )

Well, here I am at the ripe old age of 52 and have no intentions of ever quitting, since I look forward to how it makes me feel and look, especially now with all the research pointing towards the tremendous benefits of exercise and strength training and the spooky diseases that can befall anyone that is not including some sort of exercise into their lifestyles, even at a young age.

If your at all like me, your not a mad scientist hiding out in your basement trying to invent the next big fitness or weightloss breakthrough.  Either by divine intervention or pure Irish luck, I and you can get and stay fit without renting a forklift to get the next ausome piece of equipment in the building.  Or better yet, they advertise, you only have to pay as little as $14.00 a month.  They don’t tell you for how many months or what the shipping cost are.

I’m not knocking these guys at all, because Bow Flex and that Chuck Norris thing look like they will provide the results, I just believe in K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple Stupid ). It’s simple, not stupid though, and it is very, very effective.

Oh, and by the way, everything is made in AMERICA by AMERICANS.  I don’t know if this is important to you, ( I bet it is ) but it is to me and some of it is made by my own American hands.  I still have a network of very talented people that just so happen to understand this philosophy and I’m standing on their chests to keep the cost down so I can give you as much as possible at a decent price.

If this sounds like something that can benefit you,  http://www.WorkoutBandit.com might just be what you have been looking for and it can keep your weight under control while finally getting the healthy attractive physique you’ve always hoped for.

Burn Fat-Build Muscle

January 29, 2008

Finding a suitable exercise program for your fitness goals will depend on your body weight and type, your genetic makeup and it must be a workout that you will do on a continuous basis.

Most fitness beginners are suffering from inactive lifestyles and poor eating habits, causing a downward unhealthy trend that can result in always being overweight and possibly being burdened with chronic diseases if a change isn’t made beforehand.

Taking action is the most important part, so getting motivated to exercise is one of the biggest barriers facing those that truly want to get on the road to looking and feeling good.

Fact is, once you begin a workout program, it should be hard, and intense, in order to reap all the benefits of a structured workout regimen.  This intensity will not only help your metabolism but will have fatburning and muscle building effects for a period after you’ve finished your routine.  Research has proven harder is better for these results.

If you are overweight, you want to burn as much fat as possible in the beginning with vigorous aerobics, jogging, bike riding, jumping jacks and any of the other cardio type exercises, otherwise your building muscle under fat.

You also must include strength training into your fatburning workout and as you lose weight, you will slide the scale up to include more strength and muscle building exercises while reducing the cardio on your normal workout day.

A good idea is to try and do at least 15 minutes of stimulating cardio on the off days to maintain burning more calories than your taking in.

The intense non-stop muscle building routines will also have a fatburning effect.
Of course, if your not eating right and eliminating all bad eating habits, it will be a never ending struggle to truly get fit.

Well after 35 years of fitness conditioning and  15 years of using a workout system that I developed after a near death experience involving free weights, I’ve decided to produce and offer the same device and all the tools necessary to get into exellent shape now and into your retirement years.
Read full story here:

The WorkoutBandit will enable you to finally have a structured workout routine that is gauranteed to burn fat and tone and build muscle with proven results for maintaining a proper fitness program that will control weight and enable you to get into the best condition ever.

I’m no Arnold, but I have a better physique than most people half my age and I only workout three days a week for forty five minutes.  I’m a healthy 52 years old.

Fortunately, I began fitness training at a young age and was only trying to look like I didn’t need to workout.  I never had the desire to spend so much time to get really ripped. So the early good results motivated me to make it an important part of my life.

I also was lucky to to be a Chicago Health Club  (Bally’s) member in 1973 when the Nautilus resistance equipment came on the scene.  The accurate intense movement is the key for any body sculpting success.

This effective resistance equipment inspired me to design a program and device after the horrible experience I had with a 175lb. bar bell.  I havn’t used weights since.

At the time I simply didn’t have the desire or the space for an expensive bulky contraption, so I used my fabricating skills from my body shop experience to duplicate what these machines offered.

Keep in mind, that any kind of exercise on a regular basis will have benefits but an intense full body workout done properly and regularly will transform you into a pillar of strength and well-being and give you a uniformed attractive physique.

For maximum results, you need to raise the bar and workout 5 to 6 days a week for 45 to 60 minutes. ( You will get quite ripped )

Being able to accurately strengthen and sculpted each major muscle group is essential to a contured  physique.  Even if your genetics have not blessed you, you can still get into the best healthy physical condition possible.

Gimmicks run amok when it comes to exercise equipment, weightloss supplements and every diet imaginable.  Fact is, many actually work, but nothing will work if your not able or willing to work hard  to reach your fitness goals, it simply won’t happen, especially if you are already overweight or obese.

But, if you have had enough and are serious, everyone can benefit with a structured guided fitness program that allows you to easily and quickly rotate between the muscle groups.

I have no fancy trainer or nutrition certificates, just years of trial and error and was taught by the best teacher, experience.

If your tired of how you look and feel, WorkoutBandit has saved the day for me and can do the same for anyone, whether your trying to lose weight, build muscle and strength, get tone or enhance your athletic abilities.

This is a true full body program with dozens of exercises for all the muscle groups so you don’t have to worry about getting bored.

This isn’t just for men.  Women, teens, athletes, physical therapy and seniors can all benefit from this versatile, simple fitness training plan.

If your not into a truly hard workout, the WorkoutBandit can accommadate any resistance type level you are willing to pursuit.

Bottom line is, you will regret it in your later years if you don’t apply some sort of strength training or physical activity on a regular basis.

Fitness & Strength Training Workout

December 21, 2007

Strength Training Workout
by Ruff Raun

To accomplish a completly uniformed sculpted body, it is essential when working out that you apply as much concentrated resistance and fluid movement to each individual muscle group.

If you are an individual (men and women) that is a fitness beginner, or haven’t discovered the program that is reaping the results your looking for, there is a system that has kept me in excellent shape for the past 35 years.

I, like most people, am strapped for time and always have been, so whats a person to do if they want to have an productive, healthy, physical workout and don’t have two hours to spend at a health club.  I was a member for almost 15 years at The Chicago Health Club (Ballys total fitness).

The regimen relied on a continuous, non stop, progressive  muscle group rotation workout and as Bally’s popularity grew, so did the crowds, preventing me from being able to effectively use the system that was working out really well for me.  I ended up quiting and it would only cost me $50.00 a year for life.  Instead I’ve been using a workout program that duplicates the one I started using in the 70’s and still use to this day.

Have to admit, in the begining I liked using free weights but so did most of the other members.  It wasn’t a jamb pact place back in 1973 when I first joined and the new Nautilus equipment really wasn’t being used that much at first.  Since I was trying to get in the best condition possible in the least amount of time, it ended up being a blessing in disguise.  I now didn’t have to spend two hours for a one hour workout.

Most peoples fitness goals are to achieve the best possible physical shape and are’nt looking to accumulate large amounts of muscle mass or to be super ripped.  But, you can’t help but get ripped with this regimen that produces a complete uniformed healthy looking, attractive physique while enhancing strength, flexibility and stamina.

The intensity and continuous one hour workout is vital for the fat burning, muscle building and body sculpting effects.  There is no resting between sets and all sets consist of ten reps.  Three sets of each exercise that pinpoint each muscle group.  This regimen produces results in all areas of body conditioning but isn’t for the untrained body, so it is important that you condition yourself for at least a week before you perform this workout but the results will keep you going back for more, regardless of your fitness goals.

It works so well, I now only need to spend 45 minutes, 3 days a week to stay in shape now, since I no longer need to get in shape. If your fitness goals are more aggressive, simply workout for 4 or 5 days out of the week.  I personally wouldn’t recommend more than an hour of this per workout.  First set, upper body routine (chest, arms, back or shoulders), then immediately lower body (legs, buttocks, or abdomen) then back up to  upper muscle group and continually keep rotating between all muscle groups until you finish off with some cardio routines.

I also do at least two different type of exercises for each muscle group to insure a complete full sculpted result.  For instance, arm routines consist of three bicep and three tricep sets.

Never, ever, begin your workout regimen without warmingup and stretching first and always include at least ten minutes of cardio.

I use a resistance band routine that mirrors the Nautilus movement and resistance by precisely anchoring my bands ready to go with very little stoppage of moving bands around to accomplish this.  I have three ready to go bands and handle setups so I can keep moving in a heart pounding, muscle building, body shaping and fitness conditioning regimen.

Performing this routine properly will produce muscle building and fat burning effects hours afterwards and when done on a regular basis will produce noticable results in about two to three weeks and can produce significant results in a month or so.

No fitness program is complete unless there is a good nutritional diet plan involved.

Women will also find this an effective, vigorous, fat burning, body shaping regimen by using less resistance and applying more repetitions to get a complete body overhaul.

A total physical conversion can be maintained with this regimen when done with  regularity.

An entire exact workout kit will be available in early 2008, including  video and all necessary bands, handles and anchor setup.

Resistance Equipment or Weights

November 24, 2007

History shows man has been interested in physical and
strength enhancement since the times of the ancient
Egyptians if the pictures displayed on tombs are any
indication, with men portrayed exercising by throwing and
swinging rock and sand.  Weightlifting competitions date
back to early Greek civilization and these events led up to
the Greeks creating the Olympic games in 776 B.C. and
continued until 393 A.D. when Emperor Theodosis terminated
the games stating it was a pagan religous event.

Well, the Olympics are back and have been entering
weightlifting events since 1896, and women have been
entering since 2000.

Weightlifting and strength training didn’t become popular
until an easily adjustable barbell was created in 1910 by
Alvin Calvert, that allowed the user to conveniently remove
or add more weight.  More and more people were now training
at home and the easy to adjust and handle equipment was
eventually implemented by athletic and physical education
departments that gave the adjustable barbell even more
popularity.

The industry really got a boost in the early 1970’s when the
Nautilus machine was introduced, that was an upgrade from
the earlier Universal machines.   These weighted cable and
pully variable resistance machines enabled the user to get
the natural human movement and precise easily adjustable
resistance necessary for a quality full body workout.

The early 70’s also saw a rush of women now joining the
health clubs and gyms for both weight management and
strength training and also applying the new popular aerobic
type of exercises. Sport training departments today, also
utilize both free weights and resistance equipment.

One of the first things I did when I got out of high school
in 1973 was join The Chicago Health Club ( Bally’s Total
Fitness ).  I was completly impressed and hooked on the
Nautilus equipment.  It was almost all I used for
bodybuilding and strength training.  I used free weights
before I joined but realized I could get a better and more
efficent workout for the results I was looking for on the
Nautilus machines and have been maintaining great results by
using the same principles ever since.

Today, there are so many resistance types of equipment out
there, it is difficult to choose the device that is right
for you.  Some work as claim but they are also big and
expensive.

The simple fact that you are dealing with weight controlled
by your own strength in a free weight regimen, gravity can
be a dangerous undertaking, with the chance of dropping the
weights or weights falling off.  It is much easier to get
injured with free weights than a resistance type program.

One method of resistance training is the use of resistance
bands and with the easy ability to add or remove bands or
using a resistance color code system you will be able to
adjust the resistance quite easily.  I use a band system
myself that is extremely effective.

For almost fifteen years now, I have been using a resistance
band workout routine I formulated that imitates the same
methods and gets the same total body results I recieved when
using the Nautilus equipment.

Proper natural movement and resistance is essential for a
beneficial band workout routine. To accomplish this, the
bands need to be securely fastened to a stationary object
and easily allow you to do up to 12 repetitions of the
exercise in a controlled manner.

Resistance bands and tubes are a cheap but affective
alternative to the conventional equipment of today and when
quality workouts are done frequently, you can achieve the
same results.

As with free weights the results will depend on the proper
resistance, smooth fluid movement and frequency of the
workouts.

Resistance bands can be safely used by kids and teenagers,
men and women, boomers and seniors, and can be used for
bodybuilding and strength training, weight management and
flexibility, physical therapy and fitness conditioning, or
to enhance athleticism.

Studies have been conducted by researchers on the affects of
resistance exercise (RE) and the findings confirm that a
consistant RE workout can have physical and mental positive
outcomes, including cardiovascular improvements.

Resistance bands can be an inexpensive productive way of
weight-control or getting and staying in shape.  Everyone
should deploy some sort of strength training or regular
physical activity into their lifestyles.

A user friendly version of the workout resistance program I
use today will be available in the coming near future, so
stay tuned.

Child Obesity Facts And Tips

November 4, 2007

Children are facing the perils of obesity at an alarming rate with 17% of kids between the ages of 6 to 19 being overweight or obese, according to researchers.

Unfortunately, a lot of these overweight kids are victims of a lack of balanced home prepared meals due to the busy lifestyles of parents, whom are probably not eating wisely themselves.

Fast food style restaurants are more concerned with their bottom line rather than feeding the consumer with an inexpensive, healthy, low calorie tasty meal. Kids and parents keep going back for more since it fills you up, taste good and it’s affordable.

The poor are really in the grips of fast food eating, since you can fill up on belly, butt and thigh busting foods for under $5.00.

Becoming overweight or obese is a symptom of inactivity and poor eating habits and if not prevented, the child will grow up with all of the health, employment and social issues associated with obesity, so it is important that parents take steps now before the kids need to start dieting.

If parents don’t lead by example and find a way to teach their children the importance of exercise and healthy eating, the chances of them forming good healthy eating and fitness habits are pretty slim.

Obesity wasn’t an issue in past generations, if a child wasn’t helping with the many chores that needed to be done, they were out on the street or on the ball field playing fun cardiovascular, fat burning type sports and games, but today most children find television and computer games a way of life.

With half of American families not having a sit down meal, many kids have to make their own food decisions when they get hungry, so they are left to the mercy of what ever is in the fridge or cabinets, or have money for a five dollar meal. If there is one stay at home parent, then providing consistent balanced healthy food, exercise and physical activity is essential.

Schools are at last playing an important role in offsetting the childhood obesity epidemic by providing students with more nutritional food choices. Results of the 2006 School Health Policies and Programs Study (SHPPS), released 10/19/07, reveals that schools are offering more fruits and vegetables, more whole grains and low fat dairy, and less high fat foods.

The foods parents provide at home can echo what the schools are offering with more fruits and vegetables, more whole grain products and less high fat foods and soda pop. Also, only 18.8% of schools offer deep-fried potatoes, down dramatically from 40.0% in 2000.

Some Tips: Parents need to try and prepare more healthy food for the kids and themselves, such as cold whole grain cereals or hot oatmeal to start the day and fill up on more large low calorie salads, dressed with vegetables for example and fruit for dessert. Prepare meals for the week on the weekend so when the kids reach for something to eat it will be of nutritional value, and don’t leave out protein…Cut way back on the five c’s, candy, cookies, cakes, cola and chips, unless their made of whole grain products.

The formula for maintaining a healthy weight is no different for children than it is for adults. Burn more calories than you take in and you have the best chance possible for weight control. School sports or sports outside the class room is one surefire fat burning activity, but if this isn’t feasible encourage the kids to start the day with some aerobics and stretching that will counteract all the TV and computer sitting, or 10 minutes of exercise for every hour they sit.

Kids today rely on their parents and the school system to provide them with the tools and knowledge they need to make good choices and avoid heart disease, cancer, diabetes and the other perils of poor eating and inactivity.

Research: One study found that 25% of obese adults were overweight as children and if being overweight begins before the age of 8 years, obesity in adulthood is likely to be more severe. Source: Centers For Disease Control (CDC)

Another study concluded that if a women was overweight before she became pregnant, her child was nearly three times more likely to be overweight by age 7 compared to a child whose mother was not overweight or obese. Source: National Institutes of Health (NIH)

The simple equation for healthy living still applies to everyone; Burn more calories than you consume and combine quality exercise with the proper foods and diet plan to maintain optimal health.

Stress Symptoms And Relief

November 4, 2007

can range anywhere from undereating to overeating, sleeping to much to sleeping to little, constant worrying to unhappiness and depression.

Stress can effect every part of the body and produce negative physical, mental and emotional symptoms. One biological effect of chronic stress is weight gain. Weight loss can be an even bigger challenge for people with chronic stress.

Chronic stress-in tandem with a junk food diet-can lay fat on your belly. Scientist at George town University Medical Center in Washington and in Australia and Slovakia have shown in mice that stress activates the hormone neuropeptide Y (NPY), which leads to fat accumulation.

The findings, in July’s Nature Medicine have raised hopes that NPY could be manipulated to treat obesity. Source: AARP BULLETIN

With all the new research pointing towards an obesity epidemic here in America, parallels can also be drawn between the relationship of unhealthy lifestyles and stress. People tend to take worst care of themselves due to their apathetic and pessimistic outlook on life when they are stressed out, which in turn will cause lack of motivation to exercise or be active and eat right, so stress management is vital for optimal health and well-being.

Most people spend their lives avoiding pain and seeking pleasure in order to find that comfort zone where stress is best well managed. If we fall out of that comfort zone due to a stressful situation or event, we reach for something to make us feel better like sugary foods, or a drink and a smoke etc.

More people are leaning towards natural remedies, free of drugs or quick fix solutions that uaually fail in the long run.

Exercise in itself can relieve stress by releasing chemicals (endorphines) in the brain that will put you in an uplifting mood. But exercise alone won’t cure stress related weight gain, you also need to want to take better care of yourself with healthier food choices, plus a mental and emotional transformation.

Sometimes out of the ordinary natural remedies are best and hypnosis and yoga are becoming a mainstream solution to relieve people from stress related weight gain and every day anxiety symptoms, especially since both can be taught and performed alone and at home.

Unfortunately, many individuals have a hard time sticking to a conventional diet, especially since it usually involves elliminating a lot of your favorite foods and requires a lot of dedication not only to a strict diet but a full healthy diet program needs to include exercise also.

Hypnosis and yoga are both being recognized for their general health and curative benefits for stress symptoms such as emotional overeating or the inability to get motivated for exercise or physical activity.

What is hypnosis?

Hypnosis is an altered state of consciousness, in which you enter a trance-like state.

Hypnosis only works on willing participants and your success will depend entirely on your desire to achieve your treatment goal.

During hypnosis, you are fully awake, even though you are unaware of what is going on around you. It’s similar to when you daydream or become totally immersed in a book or movie.

For many years hypnosis was frowned down upon as a theatrical parlor trick exploited by charlatans, but western medicine has shown a fascination in its potential and has since become a useful tool in helping people lose weight, quit smoking, help relieve chronic pain and also used to motivate or extinguish phobias and fears.

The root of success with hypnosis for weight loss is by altering your state of mind that will elliminate food cravings and make you want to take care of yourself by eating healthy foods and staying away from the fattening foods plus a sudden desire to exercise and get physically active.

There is no magic to hypnosis, only the individuals use of a natural physical state that influences your subconscious that is only effective if it’s something you truly desire.

What Is Yoga?

Yoga is a system of holistic health originating in India over 5000 years ago. Yoga is the practice of balancing the mind, body and spirit enabeling the participants to feel more powerful, confident and balanced.

There are many forms of yoga, with Hatha encompassing the many physical types of yoga. “Ashtanga”, which means “eight limbs”, being the most physical-kind, linking “asanas” (postures) that are both physical and powerful.

A more modern term used today is “Power Yoga” and is being utilized in many of the gyms and workout classes in America due to it’s vigorous and physically demanding constant poses. Because of the constant movement (flow) Power Yoga helps fortify both mind and body while increasing your heart rate and your flexibility.

For a complete fitness regimen of yoga only, it must be vigouros enough and long enough to have a cardio, fat burning, weight loss result.

With the stress relief and physical benefits associated with yoga and exercise, many people are combining yoga with other forms of exercise such as aerobics, walking and many other forms of fat burning activity workouts.

Yoga also needs to be performed on a regular basis to have a long term lasting effect. And similar to starting an exercise regimen for the first time, you will need to perform less intense yoga poses in the beginning, so you dont’ hurt yourself.

So, both hypnosis and yoga are truly effective alternatives to supplements and drugs for weight loss or any stress symptom, providing a deep willingness is present . The rewards will be proportionate to your efforts.

Your Health And Insurance

November 4, 2007

Americans keep getting bigger and bigger. The Trust For Americans Health fourth annual obesity report, reveals in the past year, obesity rates have gone up in 31 states and no states had shrinking rates. Also 2/3 of U.S. adults are overweight or obese, 60% of the population in 32 states is overweight or obese.

Obesity related diseases are also on the rise including diabetes, heart disease and cancer. Along with the rise of these obesity related preventable diseases, health care cost and number of americans without health insurance is also on the rise.

According to AARP, health insurance cost are up 87% for a family of four since 2000 and 47 million are now without insurance, 2.2 million more than 2006.

Many of the uninsured and people with medical insurance coverage can take measures to help prevent visits to the doctors office or possible life threatening diseases by simply eating nutritional foods and maintaining weight control while strenghthening the main muscle (heart) with regular exercise or physical activity.

Preexisting ailments can determine your health insurance premiums and you could even be declined. High premiums and deductibles will put a financial burden on most people especially if the disease becomes chronic.
The rise in the number of obesity related diseases is also causing health insurance companies to pass the cost along to everyone.

Possibly one of the biggest challenges facing families today is the increase in obese children with 1 in 5 overweight kids and a higher risk of social and employment problems for starters, then a larger chance of premature death or dabilitating ailments. Get the kids involved in sports, or any kind of physical activity and guide them to healthy eating habits, so they can grow up to be happy healthy young adults.

Living a healthy lifestyle is a free insurance policy for you and your family that only takes committing to good healthy nutritional foods and continuous fitness conditioning. habits

People who have sedentary jobs or lead an inactive lifestyle are at the most risk, but it’s not to late to start regardless of your weight or age. Form good eating habits and stop all poor eating habits by avoiding saturated fats found in fatty meat, ice cream, whole milk, butter, plus trans fats found in cookies, donuts, cakes and junk food, soda pop ( less sugars,) fast food restaurants,(cook at home more) and eat in moderation. .

The World Health Organization states there is evidence that, on a population level, the risk of chronic diseases, increases progressively as average body mass index (BMI) increases above 21. WHO defines overweight as 25 or more,, and obesity 30 or more. This is determined by a persons weight (in kilograms) divided by the square of his or her height (in meters). A high body mass index is a major risk factor for a number of chronic diseases., including cardiovascular diseases, cancer and diabetes.

The one sedentary recreation that has become a big problem for many american families is TV. People spend an unhealthy amount of time in front of the tube. If you must watch, try getting up and watch at least 30 minutes per day of your favorite program while performing aerobics or calisthenic type exercises- any heart stimulating movement will help.

With the climb of health care cost and the risk of loosing a job or days off due to illness, or obesity preventing you from getting decent employment, and employers looking for ways to pass the cost to employees, you need to take as many preventive measures as possible for you and your family . The important thing is to get started and make these changes a part of your everyday life for the rest of your life, so you can avoid financial and medical catastrophy.

Optimal health will depend on the way you run your life. The important thing is to start and never stop.

The Skinny On Exercise And Weight Loss

November 4, 2007

The definition of FITNESS:.

Good health or physical condition, especially as the result of exercise and proper nutrition.

American Heritage Dictionary

*******************************************************

Any exercise that circulates the blood through the heart improves fitness. Any vigorous physical activity will make your heart stronger and pump more blood, delivering more oxygen to the body.

This in itself will enable you to feel a definite difference in the way you feel, with more energy and endurance, less stiff and agile, and able to participate in activities that didn’t even seem possible before.

Losing weight successfully means keeping the weight off, and exercise is a must if you plan on getting to the point where you are as healthy and fit as your bodytype and genetic background allows.

Choosing an exercise program should include activities you won’t get bored with and should include routines that will most effect the areas of concern. If you have a full body weight problem, then a robust full body workout is in order.

To lose weight in the beginning of your program you want to utilize more cardio than resistance training. In the beginning your resistance training will be kept to a minimum
so you can burn as many calories as possible with intense fat burning routines.(Always start out slow)

But once you’ve been diligently following your diet and exercise program, you’ll be noticing positive changes, sometimes significant. This is when the tables begin to turn.

In the beginning you may be at a 80% cardio workout and 20% resistance, but as time progresses and the pounds are coming off, it is time to move the scale to 70% cardio 30% resistance, until eventually you stabalize at your desired weight and shape.

Most people will probabably be at the level of 60% resistance and 40% cardio once you have gotten to your ideal weight. The majority of people simply want to look like they don’t need to workout. You now have achieved getting to the point of simply keeping in shape

If you are now at minimal body fat and are looking for the ripped effect, you might end up at 80% resistance and 20% cardio. If you have a one hour workout, you’ll use 48 minutes towards resistance and 12 minutes towards cardio. A lot of at home methods for bodybuilding can be utilized without any equipment.

To reap all the benefits for fat loss and heart and body strenghtening, your workouts must be vigorous enough, often enough and long enough, to have a fitness conditioning effect. Start slow and work your way up.

Some examples of cardio activities are brisk walking, running in place, jogging aerobics, rope jumping, swimming, bike riding, etc.

People of all ages can benefit from exercise. Research has shown that exercise can strenghten the muscles of frail people in nursing homes. Inactivity is the biggest culprit for the elderly’s physical incapabilities. Everyone needs some kind of regular physical activity to ensure your best chances of a healthy, fit aging process.

A continuous exercise program may very well be the closest thing to the fountain of youth.

Losing weight should only be part of your motivation to exercise and follow a good nutrition plan. Research also shows being physically active can reduce premature death by as much as 50%. and stimulate the growth of new brain cells in older adults.

Once you have been steadily involved in a program, you will not only notice physical positive changes but psychological as well. Exercise releases brain chemicals called endorphines that will give you a natural high.(runners high).

You must be steadfast in your diet and fitness program because if you decide to quit, the benefits are lost soon afterward. This includes heart strength, body strength, blood pressure, the level of (HDL) cholesterol-(the good kind) and you guessed it, body fat and all risks associated with inactivity and obesity will return.
